Brian Hanford is a distinguished writer and director, with an expertise in unscripted television and development. He crafts compelling content through seamless collaboration with a diverse range of networks and talent. For the past several years, Brian has been working for Hearst Media Production Group, writing and producing three award-winning unscripted TV series, Earth Odyssey (NBC), Wild Child (NBC), and Oh Baby! (ABC). Since 2020, Brian has also served as a development producer at Hearst and Reckognition Productions where he led multiple new projects, developed successful content ideas, and refined both scripted and unscripted concepts with executives and clients.

 

As a director, Brian started his career with the short films Tommy Gun and Cactus Flower which both received multiple film festival awards including a Best Director nod at LA Shorts. Since then, he has moved into directing for TV and feature films, with a specialty in unscripted series, most notably with Dr. Drew on Health Uncensored. Multi-cam talk shows and host-led series are well within his wheelhouse and have led to commercially successful productions. Recently, Brian was signed on to direct a romantic drama feature, “Playing for Mozart,” set to go into production later this year.
