Dr. Drew Pinsky

Dr. Drew Pinsky is a board-certified physician in Internal and Addiction Medicine, popular television host, author, and public speaker. He has treated tens of thousands of patients in his 40 years as a physician, and he still runs a thriving private practice specializing in Internal Medicine in Pasadena, CA. Dr. Drew is dedicated to giving people the most honest, practical, and up-to-date medical advice based on scientific evidence. He is beloved by viewers for his honesty, integrity, and common sense.
Dr. Drew became a household name while hosting the iconic radio show “Loveline.” For 32 years, the show became a go-to platform for listeners seeking advice on sex, health, and relationships, especially focusing on the challenges of adolescence. The show was adapted into a nightly MTV series.
Traversing radio to television, he has had an industrious public career. He starred in VH1’s reality show “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew,” on which he gave guidance on addiction and recovery. He then anchored the popular network show, ”Dr. Drew On Call” on HLN. For more than a decade Dr Drew has hosted reunion shows for the hit MTV show Teen Mom. And for even longer, he has been a sought-after guest for popular talk shows and has multiple appearances on “The View,” “Tonight Show”, “Good Morning America,” “The Steve Harvey Show,” “Oprah,” “Ellen,” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Back behind the microphone, he has shared his wisdom and humor with podcast listeners on “Dr. Drew After Dark,” “The Dr. Drew Podcast” and “The Adam and Drew Show” with co-host and long time friend Adam Carolla.
With his wife Susan, he co-produces “Ask Dr. Drew,” a livestream on DrDrew.TV. On multiple live-streaming platforms, this popular interactive show covers breaking news, emerging science, and social issues with celebrity and medical expert guests.
In addition to his media and medical work, Dr. Drew is an accomplished author, public speaker, and respected scientist. He wrote The New York Times bestseller, “The Mirror Effect: How Celebrity Narcissism is Seducing America” and “Cracked: Putting Broken Lives Together Again” (Harper Collins). With his daughter Paulina Pinsky, he co-wrote the teen guide to consent, “It Doesn’t Have to be Awkward, Dealing with Relationships, Consent, and Other Hard-To-Talk-About Stuff.” Additionally, he published the first academic study on celebrities and narcissism in the Journal of Research in Personality (Elsevier).
Due to his long-standing, multifaceted career, Dr. Drew Pinsky is a sought-after public speaker who gives his expert advice on medical and scientific topics, in addition to current events.
Dr. Drew holds an undergraduate degree from Amherst College and an M.D. from the University of Southern California School of Medicine, where he served his residency. He then became Chief Resident at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena.
For 25 years Dr. Drew Pinsky served as Program Medical Director for chemical dependency services at Las Encinas Hospital, a free standing psychiatric hospital and rehabilitation center. Additionally, he served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in both departments of medicine and psychiatry at Keck USC. He was a lecturer to first and second year medical students there, in addition to a guest lecturer and Grand Rounds at teaching institutions.
Dr. Drew Pinsky is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and on the board of directors of the Prostate Cancer Foundation. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Addiction Medicine and a Diplomat with the American Board of Internal Medicine. He currently serves as the Chief Patient Officer for The Wellness Company.
Dr. Drew and his wife Susan have been married for 33 years. They were blessed with triplets, who are all grown. They currently resides in Pasadena, California, where he still sees patients.
